Bee-eater

Its polychromatic feathering, rare among Portuguese birds, gives a touch of exoticism to our avifauna.

With a yellow throat, bluish chest and belly, orange-red back and black mask, the Bee-eater is a skilled hunter of bees.

It is a migratory bird that arrives to the south of Portugal in April, where it colours our fields until September.
